About us

My name is Istvan Toth. I’m a passionate cook and have been a vegetarian for about 30 years. Last 20 years I have been traveling extensively and learning/practicing different vegetarian cuisines around the world. I spent most of the time in Far East countries, especially India, Malaysia and Thailand where I got familiar with the exotic aroma of Asian cuisine and mastered the skill of using wide range of eastern spices and groceries. I was chef cook on many occasions like vegetarian unions and food expos in Europe and Asia.  My recent visits to California, US and Australia stirred up my interest for the vegan, low-calorie and gluten-free styles of cooking. Having this vast amount of experience my focus has become to cook healthy and tasty in the same time and to use the best of all different cooking traditions. I have been cooking and coordinating a diet for people who are diabetics, hypertension, hepatitis and stroke patients, some of whom are people with demanding life schedules like world peace social workers and corporate leaders. My Low-fat Diet Cookbook came out of that experience.

Cooking vegetarian is an endless inspiration for me. In my multinational-cuisine exploration I always find a new combinations that are unique and new in its taste and beauty. Over the time I have developed my own style of cooking in which I use a lot of wild imagination. On my cooking classes I teach how to be efficient, fast and creative in the kitchen. My wife Tamara is the one who actually write my recipes and, holding a pen, try to catch up with me in the kitchen. We work as a team, cooking and writing. She is an active researcher on the fields of healthy eating, cooking and living, and has degrees in different schools of energy healing. She is a creative writer and has published a book "Safari", about our travelling through India. At the moment she's a full time mother of our two little children.
